  10. TOM 4.0, or the The Office Manager, version 4.0, is a complete office
  11. management software package designed for use in individual or group mental
  12. health private practice; however, it lends itself to other the other helping
  13. professions without effort.  This is a shareware program and complete in all
  14. functions; so please do honor my efforts by sending in the very nominal fee
  15. of $ 50.00 US Dollars to the address listed in the documentation file on
  16. disk, if you continue to use this program in your practice.

  18. This file contains brief instructions regarding the installation and
  19. documentation of THE OFFICE MANAGER v 4.0 (TOM).
  20.  
  21. The two main files are INSTALL.EXE and TOM.EXE
  22.  
  23. To install TOM v 4.0 on your hard disk (which is highly recommended, although
  24. TOM v 4.0 will run on a high density floppy for a limited number of patient
  25. files) place these two files on a floppy.  With both files on a floppy in A:
  26. or B: drive, type INSTALL and follow the on screen instructions.

  28. If you are a power user or generally are familiar with DOS commands and how
  29. to create subdirectories and open self-extracting archives, simply place the
  30. main file TOM.EXE in a subdir or your choice, and execute the TOM file.

  32. In either case, you'll have as a result:
  33.  
  34. TOM4.EXE <-----| Main program file which you will run to begin using TOM.
  35. TOM.DOC <------| On Disk Documentation.  You'll want to print this out or use
  36.                  the built-in word processor in TOM4.EXE to view this file.
  37. RELEASE.FRM <--| The 'skeleton' of a release of information form that TOM4
  38.                  will complete with the proper provider information.
  39. PTINTAKE.FRM <-| The complete intake form for accurate patient data entry.
  40.                  Use this form with your patient before trying to enter data
  41.                  into the TOM 4.0 program.
  42. ROBSCOMM.EXE <-| The Communications Program which runs inside of TOM4
  43. COMMFIG.DAT <--| The modem configuration file for ROBSCOMM.
  44. CONVERT.EXE <--| The conversion program (not supplied with this archive)
  45.                  for conversion of 3.1 files to 4.0 format (painless data
  46.                  entry for registered users only).
  47. PTRECNO <------| This 'read only' file contains the unique patient record
  48.                  number starting point and is incremented and rewritten
  49.                  after each new patient is added to the patient database.
  50. REGISTER.FRM <-| Registration form added for your convenience.  Use this
  51.                  to obtain your own registered copy of TOM 4.0+ and receive
  52.                  all notices of major upgrades and technical product support.
